BUCKS COUNTY CHAMPIONSHIPS - 17th May 2009
This out of age levels competition took place at Milton Keynes and the following gymnasts took part:
Kaity Grose, Jemma Eyres, Georgia Thompson, Beth Mitchell, Jodie Summers, Manon Carpenter and Ellie Dodd We were so pleased for Kaity and Jemma who qualified in the top 5 at Level 5 to go to the regional finals and also take part in the county training, which we went to for the first time last Saturday and would like to say how fantastic it was and so beneficial for the gymnasts. Jodie Summers who actually came 8th at Level 4 has also gained her place at the finals following the decision by the southern region to revert back to the gymnasts being able to enter if they had a qualifying score. Well done to all that took part, it was a very good competition. The Regional Championships Competition is on the 21st June 2009 at Milton Keynes, please come and cheer on our gymnasts!!! |
| MILTON KEYNES GYMNASTICS ACHIEVES GYMMARK |
Congratulations to all our coaches and staff who have helped us towards achieving our GymMark award. This is an award in partnership with sport England and sports councils which recognizes clubs which provide quality experiences. The criteria to achieve this has been to ensure we are providing a safe, effective and child friendly environment and to constantly keep up to date all our records on qualification of coaches and their ratios, CRB checks for all helpers and coaches and processes to monitor safety.
It also means that all our staff are trained to the highest of standard within their field of expertise. Included within this is child protection, equity and ethics. We provide equal opportunities to all the community from pre school to adults and offer this to all levels of ability.
It has taken some time to achieve this due to the many coaches we have here and the need to get them qualified in the many different areas in order to comply with these regulations. Our thanks go out to all our staff and coaches who have sacrificed many a weekend to attend various courses! |
| OUR GIRLS DO WELL IN THE ATTILA PINTER MEMORIAL COMPETITION IN AUSTRIA |
| Congratulations to our gymnasts Jade Warren, Stephanie Forward, Emily Owen, Paris Johns who competed in the Attila Pinter memorial competition in Innsbruck Austria on 25th April. It was a very high level International competiton against the likes of the host nation, Austria, Croatia, Italy, Slovenia, Germany and czech republic. Our girls gave it their all with Emily doing a fantastic beam routine and Paris competing her tuck back on beam for the first time and a very confident bar routine. Stefs Knee was giving her problems but she still performed extremely well in all her routines as did Jade who competed her new flloor routine for the first time.' |
| MK GYMNASTICS BOYS QUALIFY FOR FINALS AT NEWCASTLE |
| All the boys performed extremely well with the following boys getting into medal positions: Dylan Zastron- 1st; Bradley Smith- 3rd; Edward Dean- 3rd; Lewis Dean- 2nd ; Gregory Beckley – 1st and Henry Stockwell – 3rd. The coaches who travelled enjoyed the competition and the day.
