Bucks Full apparatus competition on 23rd May
|
Two gymnasts from Milton Keynes Gymnastics competed in the Buckinghamshire county championships on Sunday the 23rd of May at the centre in Kingston. The Girls were amazing having hardly any mistakes and both were crowned County champions in their age groups.
Gypsy Quires, age 6 looked stunning in her first ever county competition keeping her cool and not letting the pressure get to her. She ended up with an overall score of 44.40 making her first on every piece of apparatus and won her an overall gold medal finishing 12 whole marks ahead of her competition.
Larisha Lee, age 8 also impressed her competition and audience by completing very difficult routines for her age and used real strength to come back from minor mistakes. She finished in gold medal position and her score was the third highest of the whole day coming out better than girls twice her age.
The girls coaches are very proud of them as are the management team for representing the club so successfully and putting Milton Keynes Gymnastics back on the elite path.
Watch out for these two names in the future………..

County 4 piece girls artistic competition
On Sunday 3rd of June Milton Keynes gymnastic girls entered the bucks county 4 piece hosted at Milton Keynes with seven of our gymnast entering in age and out of age.
Our first gymnast to perform was Poppy Gibbs. Poppy is seven years old and the youngest of the squad. Poppy was competing in level 5 in age and for the second week running had another good competition, having a great start on vault with an impressionable score of 10.60. Poppy had a good bar, beam, and floor routine to take her through to the silver medallist overall. The level 4 out of age competition had two gymnast from Mk in it Jodie summers and Kiera McGinnity who both had a nervous start to beam but both going through the other three pieces well, even though the girls did not win medals on this occasion , it gave them a valuable experience.
The next round see Molly O Dell and team mates Natalie summers and Amelia Chapman in the out of age level 4. senior , all three girls performed well , with good floor routines and shown competitive sprit on beam and vault, with molly taking the overall bronze medal showing her strength on vault and bars, molly and Amelia will be going to the reigional final.
The last session of the day saw Emma marks in level 3 juniors and Jade Warren in level three seniors, the team watched closely as Emma went round her for pieces growing in confidence, Emma is showing good consistency and maturity and worked very hard to gain the overall bronze medal and a place in the regional final. Jade Warren again shown what a beautiful floor worker she is , with tumbles to match but unfortunately the judges did not see it that way, unlike the judges last week that judge her two and a half marks higher.. Jade had a very good vault but unfortunately even though having the highest start value on bars , had a couple of falls which left her with a rolled ankle ,with still beam to compete , Jade competed well on beam but the ankle was aggravating her very much. Jade came away very disappointed but is looking forward to the next competition.
Well done girls we are all very proud of you..

WOW- DIDN'T THEY DO GREAT!
On Sunday the 27th of May Milton Keynes girls artistic squad competed at the bucks floor and vault.
This would be the first competition for some of the gymnast.
The competition opened with a well choreographed floor routine with equally clean tumbles from Lucia Martuccio, this was the first time Lou had competed this routine ,followed by an excellent vault, to give Lucia the Silver medal overall. Lucia is definitely a gymnast to look out for in the future, The team spirit was buzzing , and Lou gave Milton Keynes a great start.
The second gymnast to perform for Mk was the youngest of the squad with Poppy Gibbs. Poppy performed a good vault with a very beautiful floor routine with great poise and elegance putting her on to a bronze medal, this was the second medal of the day.
Next see our level 4 out of age gymnast raising the bar to keep Milton Keynes medal tally up, with two great performances from Kiera McGinnity, silver medal and Jodie Summers Bronze medal, both performing with their hearts on their sleeves with pride.
The afternoon session shown the same passion as the youngsters with Natalie Summers starting us off with a good vault followed by her sticking all of her tumbles on floor and dancing with flare to put her in a very commendable silver medal , just missing the gold by .1, Emma marks was the next M K gymnast up to perform, again putting in a good and safe vault , to put her in good position before her floor. Emma dance through her floor with grace and maturity with everyone at MK holding their breath for her last tumble, as it was the first time she had competed the move In competition, with Emma spotting her landing we were very proud to see her take the bronze medal.
Our last gymnast of the day was Jade warren whos excellent tumbles match her beauty and sophistication on floor which set her up in good stead for vault.
The whole of MK team waited in anticipation as Jade performed her vault, as soon as she landed the vault an almighty cheer went up from the MK arena. Jade won the gold.
|
Its great to see MK back on the medal trail, with every gymnast achieving a medal.
