Sports Acrobatics is a beautiful, dynamic and spectacular sport for both men and women. The sport develops courage, strength, stamina, co-ordination, and flexibility. Pairs and groups exercises are performed with a musical accompaniment on a gymnastic type platform. |
They obviously include acrobatic elements executed by all gymnasts together but, they also consist of individual elements and choreographed transitions performed in perfect synchronization with partners and music. |

Andrei Pozdyniakov heads up our Sports Acro team and is an International Performance Coach, originally from Russia. |
He has worked with us for many years and is assisted by Helen Beaumont and Denise Phillips, both senior club coaches. |
 |
If you would like to take up Sports Acro you will need to come in for a trial session with Andrei to see if you are suitable, and also to see if you enjoy it! Either give us a call, or come to reception to book a suitable time. |
Sports Acro train each weekday evening and on Saturday afternoons, and gymnasts train a minimum of two sessions per week. |
It is a great achievement to be selected for our squad and gymnasts are expected to follow the rules of the gym and the instructions of the coaches. Squad train from two to five times a week and take responsibility for their progress and commitment. All squad gymnasts are expected to compete where appropriate and wear squad leotards and tracksuits – with pride! |
