This highly intensive discipline that matches power, elegance, strengh, courage, explosiveness, grace and beauty.
The sport is comprised of 4 diciplines / apparatus. |
| Uneven bars - routines combine strengh elements with a range of different swing elements A bar routine should be continuous throughout with no pauses and a fabalous dismount. |
|
 |
| Balance beam - This apperatus is particularly hard to master as you have to balance grace with power. You must balance your way through a 90 second routine using 8 acrobatic skills with dance moves between.
|
| Vault - Is all about power, running towards a horse and trying to summersault off it. The trick is to block on the top of the horse to create maximum flight. |
| Floor- a 12m x 12m sprung area that the gymnasts have to stay inside to avoid penalty. A routine consists of up to 4 high flying tumbles, leaps, spins, jumps and of course the gymnasts have to dance their way through the 90 second routine adding their own style. |
| |
It is a great achievement to be selected for our squad and gymnasts are expected to follow the rules of the gym and the instructions of the coaches. Squad train from two to five times a week and take responsibility for their progress and commitment. All squad gymnasts are expected to compete where appropriate and wear squad leotards and tracksuits – with pride! |
